New President of Yemen Abd Rabbuh Mansur Al-Hadi


Pictured above the new President of Yemen Abd Rabbuh Mansur Al-Hadi. He replaced the old Yemeni president Ali Abdullah Saleh who was head of the country for 33 years but was forced to step down after a year of violent protests calling for an end to his oppressive regime.

It is thought that neighbouring Saudi Arabia is behind the power shift in the Yemeni Government which hopes to have a new constitution written for the country within the next two years.

Muslim Ninja Women of Iran

Look at these pics of the Muslim Ninja women of Iran! There are over 3000 women in Iran who practise the Martial Art Ninjutsu. A practitioner of Ninjutsu is called a Ninja and these Iranian women were photographed at a park in Tehran performing various Ninja techniques.

Mosques of Bangladesh

This post is dedicated to the beautiful Mosques of Bangladesh. I find the way Islam merges with the culture of the Muslims who practice the Religion very interesting. Bangladesh is a very poor country but has a rich history of Islam and has made some priceless contributions to the worldwide Muslim culture!

This is the colorful Mosque is called Baitul Aman Masjid and is located in Barisal city, Bangladesh. 



This is the beautiful Tara Masjid (Star Mosque) which is located in a poor Muslim part of Old Dhaka City in Bangladesh. You can see it is an old Mosque built in the 18th century in Mughal style architecture by Mirza Ghulam. It is called the "Star Mosque" because of the 5 pointed star in the courtyard and the many intricate little blue stars that art part of the ornate design decorating the walls of the Mosque.
This is the Bayt al Mukarram Mosque that also located in Dhaka City, Bangladesh. The Bayt al Mukarram was built in 1962 and is the largest mosque in Bangladesh and also one of the biggest mosques in the world!
